Accreditation surveys currently proceed against the 5th edition while the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care confirms transition arrangements, and all practices will move to the 6th edition after that transition period — practices are encouraged to begin implementing the 6th edition now. Using these checklists does not guarantee accreditation, which is assessed by independent surveyors.
